[Review] Vitacreme B12

Standard

Good saturday dear readers!
Today i’m gonna review one of the best moisturizers i’ve tried and am using faithfully for the past year.. the Vitacreme B12

I first came across this from one of the sprees online on livejournal – and that it promises to do alot of things, and Jap actress Norika Fukiwara (if you still rmb who she is) secret to looking young haha. and some famous HK beauty reviewer Queenie also did a good review on this.

Taken from the Vitacreme site (http://www.vitacremeb12.co.uk/)
Vitacreme B12 is the only cosmetic product with the Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) as a main active ingredient.

The principal actions with the application of VitacremeB12 are:

•Skin Reconditioning
•Very significant reduction in the extent of the wrinkles and fold of the skin
•Improvement in skin elasticity
•Correction of the skin dryness

VITACREME B12 penetrates as far as dermo-epidermic junction thanks to its liposomic reactivating agents as well as the growth of germinative cells (Deeper layer of the epidermis) favouring the formation of elastin and collagen fibres

the sad thing is, it is not available in Singapore. so have to buy online or overseas.
i got my first tube online from that spree. and after which i went HK recently and they were haveing a promotion, buy 1 get 1 free!! i think it was $30+ SGD for these 2. 🙂

i like how you see that its fully sealed when you open the cap. and you have to use the pointed tip of the top of the cap to poke it through…

the creme is of pink colour, exactly the same as the Johnson and Johnson’s famous moisturizer and also this creme is odourlos which is ++ point. somehow i think frangrance added to cremes means the original creme is too chemically strong or smthg.

i like how this spreads easily over my skin, and its not too haeavy, rather light feeling and really moisturizing afterfeel.
However i would like to point out that in Singapore’s humid weather, its really hard to feel dry skin… at least for me. everywhere i go i see ads promoting how impt it is to moisturize etc. and never in singapore i feel like i need to moisturize. so, when i put this creme on before bed (i sleep in non air con room), i feel that my skin has less room to breathe. and personally i much prefer the feeling of after wash, with completely nothing on my face…

during my taiwan trip last nov, i brought this along as well. and yes, i can really feel the difference. the air there is def less humid, and it was end autumn. even after putting a generous layer of B12, i feel like i have not put anything and my skin still feels drier than any sg moment. i have to keep on applying every few hours, to feel abit more assured and so my skin feels like it is drinking water. so im convinced that all these marketing about moisturzing constantly is more application for europe/us/north asia. dont know why when these pdts come to singapore they assume its one product fits all – its not.

anyway, here is the before and after photo of the back of my hand with Vitacreme B12

[Review] Clarins High Definition Body Lift

Standard

to all ladies out there whom have this consistant grumble from yourself or bfs =P about the stubborn cellulite on your thighs… i have good news for you!

recently bought the Clarins Shaping Facial Lift Lipo Drain Serum, and tangs was having a promotion which comes with a FREE 100ml of Clarins High Definition Body Lift worth $42 SGD. i would have bought the lipo lift serum online which is much cheaper but i succumb to the high definition body lift, which promises this: “The patented formula of Clarins High Definition Body Lift combines 8 plant extracts to reduce the appearance of cellulite and ensure smoother, more toned skin” (yes im a sucker for these kinda things)

– Contains active microspheres that melt into skin to deliver increased absorption of ingredients upon application.
– Minimises the appearance of cellulite, helps redefine hips and thighs by providing skin with a gentle lifting effect.
– Visibly enhances skin with dual-toning and smoothing action.
– Restores balance by moisturising and nourishing skin.
– Refreshing and cooling cream-gel texture helps tighten tissue encouraging toned and firm skin.

Here is a close up of the content:

pinkish gel-like texture with red beads (the “microspheres”?)

Although the instructions says apply from ankle to waist, i only applied it to my thighs every night, since there is where my most visible cellulite are, and this bottle is only 100ml as compared to the regular 200ml you get off the shelf. i would also gently massage this in upward strokes as recommended on the bottle.
the smell of the product is sweet and minty, and you can feel the minty tingling sensation on your skin as well. its not overpowering and the legs feel cool and smooth. i like that it does not leave any greasy feeling on my skin as well.

I have alot of cellulite on my thighs and bums area. and it has got to a stage where i do not have to squeeze to see the cellulite :((((!!
and when i gently tug or squeeze my thighs, i can see alot of dimples all over whcih really bothers me.
I started using this daily every night after shower since 2 weeks back. i rmb taking measurements and storing it on my iphone but now its missing when i want to find it.. so argh!

i do not have a before photo (too horendous), but here is a photo of the after:

I have to say I am impressed by the results! i pinched really hard and i can barely see any obvious dimples on my skin. previously, a gentle pinch for twist on my thighs can see alot ugly cellulite. even sitting with my legs crossed on a chair can see man. 😦
this really works in reducing the appearance 🙂 i would not say this gets rid of cellulite per se, but can only reduce the appearance, which is good enough for me and what i expect from a gel without going for lipo.
i am more confident when wearing shorts now too! i would definitely go for a full size bottle once this is done. Retailing at $82 for 200ml or $63 at best buy world!

[Review] The Face Shop Raspberry Roots sleeping mask

Standard

I bought this item from Hong Kong in May last month and I have been using this for abuot 3 weeks or so.

i read raving reviews about this and i know in Singapore the price for korean brands is much more expensive than korea/HK so i was so happy to see this in a drugstore in HK. i cant rmb how much i paid (i bought too many things XD) but Im sure its at least 30% than sg.

anyhoos. what i really like about this when i first spread this on the back of my hand is 1) the non greasy texture, 2) the smell!

i squeezed a small amount here to show you the colour and texture… its really light, and very watery. smells like berries and i love how it spreads out easily since its so watery and your fingers are non sticky or anything. feels like it will absorb into your face and give it moisture overnight when you are sleeping.

after spreading a moderate amount on my face after washing (taken last week)

the next morning, you can feel that the mask is absorbed , or probably dried up into the atmostphere, and what is left is a dried gel-like feeling – which is fine and expected if you ask me.
went to rinse my face, no cleanser, and towel dried to feel the after effects of the mask alone. skin feels clean, moisturized, brightened…:) not bad for a sleeping mask!

i used this again the next night and maybe abuot 3 times a week. i realise i shouldnt use this so often, read somewhere that twice weekly is recommended.

taken today – got a new pimple 😦

overall i think this is a good product to have in your regime. on days where you feel lazy to put on sheet masks and wait, and just want to get to bed asap. which is pretty often for me. keke.. i will buy this product again when i am done with this.
