[Review] Biotherm White D-TOX BB cream

One of the samples i recieved in the June Bellabox is this Biotherm White D-Tox BB Cream.
Its a tiny tube, 5ml.. so i brought it to my Bintan trip recently

I have never read/heard anything about this BB cream before, so i have no expectations of this BB. in fact i was quite skeptical as i would thot BB creams are more established in Korean brands than western ones.

But anyways this had SPF25 PA++ and it is a hydrating BB cream, which is just what i need for my beach holiday 🙂

the nude cream colour looks just nice for my skin, since my face is more ‘yellow’ than ‘pink’. can wait to blend it

i am also very amazed with the light texture of this BB, in fact a first for me. the usual BB creams i used are heavier and ‘greasier’ to touch
lets see how this blends..

I applied this after my toner and sunblock.
this pdt really blends easily and smoothly into my skin. i did not have to belnd much with my finger and this becomes my 2nd skin so naturally. the light texture does not give my skin a greasy look or feel unlike the other BB creams!!
in fact i did not even touch up with powder after this – which i didnt intend to anyway since i did not bring powder to beach places… but this surprasses my expectations alot!!

Result: matte smooth and fair skin.
imperfections are covered moderately. Skin is hydrated and protected, yet able to ‘breathe’ in this. ❤

just BB alone – natural right!!

i am really tempted to get a full bottle, but i still have 2 BB tubes waiting for me to finsihed. 😦 and i dont believe it wastage.

it is only recently that i found out this BB a actually quite popular and awarded one of the fave BB by a local women’s magazine. not surprsing.

I still have some left so will use it for my next short trip!

Rating: 5/5

[Review] Rachel K Mineral CC Cream

After Fen reviewed Rachel K Radiance Illuminator Collagen + Lotus Stem Cell Hydrogel Mask, I became interested in their products. Naturally the first thing I would try is their popular CC cream. Many asians are BB cream lovers and swears by this miracle product. I recall the first generation BB creams are 4-in-1, namely moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock. Now all the new and improved formulations, most BB or CC creams are claiming 10-in-1 benefits. This craze over BB/CC creams never really caught on with me as I was more of a tinted sunblock, concealor, loose powder gal. So when Rachel K was giving out samples via their fb page, I signed up for it.

I believe the sample they sent is the newer formulation/packaging that looks like that.

Additional beneficial ingredients found in CC cream that most BB cream lacks include: (taken from

White Tea extract, which contains powerful antioxidants (more than green tea because it undergoes less processing and is believed to be more beneficial than any other kind of tea ) that absorb, weaken and neutralize free radicals continuously and also provide protection from increasingly harsh environmental factors such as pollution, dust, and chemicals in the air. It boosts the immunity of skin cells and prevents wrinkling and pigmentation

Green Tea Leaf extract, also rich in antioxidants and boasts anti-inflammatory and natural disinfecting properties

CC Cream however contains Deep Sea Water which gives resilience and moistness to the skin and allows for better skin permeability.

Macadamia Nut Oil, an ideal anti-aging supplement for cosmetics, due to its high content of Palmitoleic Acid, an essential component of human sebum, which is lost with aging

Natural Vitamin E, which protects body tissues from breakdown and signs of photo aging, and aids in reducing the appearance of stretch marks, age spots, while maintaining the skin’s oil balance and reduces trans-epidermal water loss from skin, strengthening the skin’s barrier function.

The presence of Epidermal Growth Factor also stimulates collagen production in skin and speeds up skin regeneration. CC cream also treats and covers uneven skin tones more effectively and after leaving on for a 2-3 minutes, blends with skin tone better than BB Creams that sometimes appear too light on certain skin tones.
Besides being waterproof, Mineral CC cream includes an SPF 35 PA++ rating to ensure protection from damaging UVA and UVB rays while remaining smudge-proof.

A lighter texture than that of BB cream also allows for smoother application with a less oily finish, while remaining extremely nourishing to the skin

Yes, I was sent a small sachet

And the back lists the 10 benefits.

Ok, the whole sachet contains slightly more than this. Definitely only enough for 1-time application. Kinda bumped cos I wanted to try it with and without loose powder.

In the morning after my usual skincare routine. Skipped my regular sunscreen so this is my bare skin. Notice the under eye redness with a few red spots and some pigmentation.

After application of the CC cream, skipped loose powder. Skin looks significantly fairer/radiant, and more evened out. My red spots are concealed, except the ginormous one on my forehead. Pigmentation looks less obvious.

And this is how I look like after 10 hrs (pardon the hair). Throughout the day, I did not blot or touch up with any pressed powder. My nose still got a little shiny, but not too greasy.

Though not a regular user of BB creams, I have tried a number and I have to say that this CC cream is definitely lighter in texture. Application was alright but not fantastic as it was easy to blend into my skin and I had to check if there were streaks left unblended, especially near my hairline and eyebrows. I also didn’t have enough left over to reapply over my red spots, so I can’t comment on its concealing properties. By the time I put on the rest of my makeup, note that I skipped loose powder, I was underwhelmed by this product.

After 10 hours and when I got back to take the last picture, I was pleased that this product had at least stayed true to its claim of staying power. Yes, I still had a bit of shine but overall I think it did better than my usual routine of tinted sunscreen, concealor and loose powder. Hmm, I’m still undecided.

[Review] Skin Food Aloe Sun BB Cream SPF 20 PA – Shade 1

today is your lucky day cos im doing a Makeup review.

i have to admit that this is a super overdue post and i wish i had done this earlier.

BB cream needs no introduction im sure. i’m a fan of BB creams cos im lazy and BB creams are multifunctional pdt.

it is my sunblock, make up base, foundation, moisturizer all-in-one – super functional right.

and this pdt is super established in the market so i think many of you have moved on to other BB creams.

An excellent soothing treatment with UV protection (SPF20 PA++), it especially suits people with sensitive skin. This cream leaves skin feeling moisturized while it corrects skin tone for a naturally air-brushed complexion.

here’s a photo of my hand before the BB

alot of veins hor 😦

love the watery consistency of this BB, its not too thick or cakey and blends like a dream

my makeup routine to work is limited to 5 min max and i love how this blends in 30 sec with my fingers, thanks to the watery aloe vera formula.

very natural right?? as if i did not put make up at all.

thats what i really like about this. on days that i look horrid and just need a v natural look cos i dont feel like wearing make up i just apply this thats all. no powder no nothing. and ppl would think that i have good skin without make up lol.
it doesnt create too much shine but a matte look.

naturally my face will secrete oil and for this i will need to blott after about 5-6 hours.

this is my 3rd bottle too! it retails in Singapore for SGD38 but my advice is BUY ONLINE. i bought for SGD18 if im not wrong but i just checked gmarket selling for $14.50 =X

here’s one of the looks i used with this BB cream and loose powder. and good photography 🙂

Review: Bio-essence Bio Multi Effect BB Cream

I came across this website from sg that is really cool! its The Sample Store. basically, you sign up as a member, and you can ‘grab’ free sample of ALOT of beauty/healthcare etc pdts for FREE (postage not included). afterwhich you can review these items to gain points, and use these points to redeem more items. not bad right?

so, thrifty shoppers like us get free samples, get to try products that we are eyeing without buying first. reviewing allows other shoppers to decide whether to buy, everyone is happy. win-win!

so i got myself the BRTC jasmine water bb cream, bio essence bb creams and Hadatuko collagen sachet 🙂

so, if you wish to be a member, click and support me!

ok sorry for digressing. I shall move on to the review of the Bio-essence bio multi effect bb cream. its 8-in-1 man!
-sunscreen (SPF 25+)
-Skin Repair
-Oil control
-Skin Whitening
-Reduces lines and wrinkles

(this is ripped of the box: Ok im thinking right now if they want to use nouns or verbs to desrible these 8 effects, so inconsistent)

anyway, i used it for work today! the bb cream is thinner than my current Skinfood aloe vera bb cream, but applying this bb cream is a breeze. I used gentle patting motions to blend this to my skin, and it spreads smoothly on my face and coverage is not too bad, it covers my super enlarged pores on my nose very well!!

the shade also blends in well with my fair skin, giving my face a very natural nude look. I bet ppl cant tell i have any make up on! after applying this, i use the Chacott finishing poweder to finsih off my foundation routine. i super heart the chacott powder btw, will review another time.

End result after putting only blusher and lipstick.

i also put the extra on my left hand for comparison:

so, if you are fair skinned and like a natural nude look, i think this product is really value for money and effective. At $28 for 30g, this little tube does more than expected!

you can get the FREE sample with FREE delivery to your doorstep at the sample store too!
