I’ve been dying to review this for so long but never got to take proper photos etc for it cos it can get quite messy when putting skincare and trying to take photos.

BUT i’ve done it! cant wait to share this with you guys. this product is the MISSHA Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream, which is one of the Star products of MISSHA when i was there last Dec.

im always curious to try the snail related products which is all the hype now so yeah, must buy!!

MSMS2301_b

i chose this photo from the net cos the jar is so glossy you can never take a proper photo without seeing your camera’s reflection.

don’t believe? see..

so hard to read the words lor.

Here’s the extract from MISSHA SITE

the consistency is very gelish and light. i really wish i didnt have to put my finger inside to scoop out cos its quite unhygenic but im too lazy to have a spatula and wipe off and store in the drawer which is not v clean too.

IMG_3116

it blends easily INTO the skin cos of the light texture, which is awesome. i personally prefer gels to creams (although this says CREAM but i think its more GEL).
this smells like cucumber really and i dont have the ingredient list 😦

i enjoy putting this on my face every morning and night cos its refreshing to smell and feel and keeps my skin hydrated all day.
i sincerely hope the snail slime is doing its magic to regenerate and renew my cells!!
IMG_3118

In terms of results, i think this is so so.. i dont feel that my scars are gone easily nor wake up to clear skin as i expected.

as a regenerative cream, i would expect myself to look younger after months of usage. so far i think i look the same..

but i still think its a fabulous moisturizer and wouldnt mind getting this again if its cheap like korea standard price

[Review] Institut Karité Paris Extra Gentle Body Milk

Standard

Received this in my February Bellabox and decided to bring this as part of my travel sized body lotion
IMG_2076

this was a 30ml tube which lasted me 2 short holidays and still not finsihed!
IMG_2078
sadly i wished it didnt contained this much parabens

the consistency is rather thin, which i prefer compared to the creamy ones. so this is easier to spread and blends in well into my skin. it smells faintly sweet which is just nice for me as well.
IMG_2079

i spread this over my arms and legs after shower and it kept my skin moisutrised and soft. i really like this.
however, if you sleep in an air con room which can be drying to your skin you may find this not moisturizing enough. I tried this in both air con and non air con conditions.
but i sleep in non air con room at home so i tink this is perfect.

You can get this from Bellabox.sg for SGD$33 for a 250ml bottle.

[Review] Boots Jasmine and Jasmine Rice hand and nail cream

Standard

received this as a gift from bangkok (yes i know this is a british brand) from a colleague.
i chose this flavour cos its so uniquely Asian!! jasmine rice!!

it contacts parabens and some colouringss.
other than that, i really like the smell!! its not overpowering and the ‘rice’ part is really fragrant

thick and creamy

i only use hand cream in the office cos the air is so cold, and quite dry.
the rich creamy texture is slightly much for my liking but its good enough for daily use and im fine with it. not too greasy.

After massaging into my skin

hands are moisturized and protected for a long while.

however they will be gone each time i wash my hands with soap and water in the bathroom. so sometimes i dont put cos i am gg bathroom soon. hee

i believed this is very reasonably priced in thailand. worth a shot but with this size i think can last me a good 1 to 1.5 years!

[Review] Watson’s Bird’s Nest Whitening and FIrming facial cream

Standard

This sample sachet is one of the items in Watson’s Vanity Trove a few months back

I have used Watsons bird’s nest masks several times and am happy with it. it is really quite popular so they came up with a range of bird’s nest skincare line.

for this facial cream, it acts like a moisturizer containing jojoba seed oil, shea butter oil, olive oil, vitamin C and E.

the cream is yellowish and really thick and heavy.

you can smell the olive oil as well.

i dont really like the feel as it is really greasy in my humble opinion, too much good oil?

anyways, i used this today morning on my entire face. my face feels so oily!

i was expecting the oil to be absorbed like the other facial creams that i have tried.

but my face is still greasy.

only applying on my right hand…

after 45 min my hand still looks like this!

i feel, this is not suitable for combination oily skin in singapore’s climate.

it should be fine for drier climates.

[Review] Biotherm Lait Corporel anti-drying body milk

Standard

Back from a vacation from the land of smiles – thailand 🙂

this was a perfect opportunity for me to try all the sample products i have as they are all in small travel-friendly sizes.

i brought the Biotherm anti drying body milk with me as i know i will be sleeping in air condition environment..

with citrus extracts!

the formula is milky and thick, with a slight orangey colour and orange scent (due to the citrus extracts i supppose).

the milk is not too thick and i think the consistency is just nice. i am able to spread throughout my body easily, and its absorbed within minutes

guess which thigh has been applied?

just a comparision, you can see how my right fat thigh after application. looks more supple and healthy right?

i like how this pdt maintains the moisture throughout the night, and does not have a greasy feeling. the next day my skin is smooth and soft and not too dry from the air con.

in fact, i even applied it again in singapore in my non air con room last night. it is also quickly absorbed and does not leave any sticky feeling the next day. as if i did not put anything.
i recommend this for daily use.

[Review] Missha Inner Moist Vitalize Eye Cream

Standard

I use this eye cream about 3-4 times a week at night after washing my face. other nights i do not use eye cream… as i dont feel that i need to use so much at this time, and i’m still pretty new to this eye cream thing.

Featuring my night eye cream: MISSHA Near SKIN Inner moist collection

at my age i feel the type of eye cream i need would be the moisturizing type, so upon doing some read ups decided on this and asked LJ to help me buy from korea, > 50% cheaper there 🙂

i hope you are reading every word in there. sounds pretty cool right!

i like the part about 6-free: alochol-free, paraben-free, mineral oil-free, benzophenon-free, tricosan-free, GMO-free

Near Skin Inner Moist series focuses on dehydration, the main reason of skin troubles such as aging, losing elasticity and troubles.

containing 17 Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF) such Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramid, Lecithin, PGA, Cholesterol and 11 Essential Amino Acids, it workds each skin layers and relives inner and outer dryness.

loving the science behind this: im a sucker for this 🙂

here’s the product swatch:

light viscous texture.

i really like the moisturizing properties of this eye cream. i am confident that my eyes are moisturized for > 6 hours each time i used this.

eyes are def less tired looking the next day.

i dont really feel i need an eye cream badly now so all im looking for is something in my maintenance regime to ensure the skin stays healthy and wrinkle free!!

Recommended? Yes!

did you see this!

4 free mild formula :

Paraben free, Colorant free, Mineral oil free, Benzophenon free!!!!

this cream is white and creamy, but not very thick so its easy to spread and absorbed by the skin.

it is also scented but not strong

i use this at night before i sleep on nights when i dont do masks.

Cleanse > tone > Missha defending cream

As this is cream based, it makes my skin looks oily after application. the oiliness stays on actually. I am fine as long as it doesnt cause breakouts.

by the next morning, my skin is back to normal. it hydrates my skin throughout the night and i can feel my skin is more nourished.

after application

worth a shot!

[Review] Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream

Standard

I’ve tried the entire range of Laneige Water Bank Series and first used it during my 2 weeks trip to Europe during September 2008. Instead of the one-step toning I was used to, they have a two-step for this. Namely the refiner and emulsion step. After 2 weeks of using the entire series, my skin was agreeing with the products so perhaps there is something to the additional toning step. While I havent been faithfully using the entire series, there is one item I’ve found myself repurchasing over the years which is the Water Bank Gel Cream. If my memory serves me right, this gel cream formula wasn’t yet available in 2008 when I first tried it. It was the hydro gel (combination to oily skin) and now they have both a gel cream (combination & normal skin), a moisure cream (dry to normal skin) and an intensive cream (dry skin) for different skin types.

A gel-type moisture cream that soothes the skin with a cool, invigorating texture. Supplies moisture and soothes the skin with a non-sticky, refreshing texture. A translucent, supple gel-type cream that quickly penetrates into the skin for an instant cooling effect and smoothly adheres to the skin that is fatigues by heat to supply moisture.

Product Benefits

– A 24-hour long-lasting moisture cream that supplies moisture and soothes the skin with a non-sticky, refreshing texture.

– A translucent supple gel-type cream that quickly penetrates into the skin for an instant cooling effect and smoothly adheres to the skin that is fatigued by heat to supply moisture.

– Centaury Extracts with redness soothing properties protect the skin from the harmful aggressions and aloe extracts forms a protective moisture barrier to retain moisture and soothes the skin.

The glass jar is rather heavy

20120615-131632.jpg
A mini spatula is included within every box to prevent contamination when scooping the product out of the jar.

20120615-131638.jpg
I will transfer this amount to the palms, spread it on both palms first before applying & patting it into my face.

Raves
♥ the smell..all Laneige products smell so nice (but prolly scented)
♥ Fast absorption
♥ Cooling sensation upon contact with skin
♥ Non-sticky texture

Rants
▼ While the spatula is a good idea, it’s not very practical to use and keep since there’s not holder. And you have to clean it after each use
▼ Refer to the pic of me scooping the product out from the jar, the gel under the rim of blue surrounding the opening is really hard to reach
▼ May not be hydrating enough on certain days

Retails @ SGD52 for 50ml

p/s. Another very very similiar product I’ve tried and equally like is the Biotherm Aquasource Gel moisturizer (green jar) but that is way more expensive @ SGD69 for 50ml.

[Review] Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion & Refill

Standard

“One Drop Locks Up an Ocean” is the tagline for this product which is the best selling item from Hada Labo.

Key ingredient would be the Hyaluronic Acid and this lotion contains 3 types of that, namely Hyaluronic Acid (HA), Super HA & Nano HA. The different types of HA penetrates into the different levels of the skin and helps to nourish and moisturize the different levels.

Though, not marketed as a toner it seems to be used as one since directions are to apply after cleansing face. And there isn’t any other product in this line that is named as a “toner”.

The bottle looks battered because I’ve been using it for awhile and just bought the refill.

The refill was really easy to pour with no low chance of any spillage.

Here’s a drop on my hand. I use about 3-4 drops for both my face & neck. It’s a clear lotion and the consistency is thicker than a toner. It is to be applied onto palms and pat onto skin until absorbed which takes awhile. This product has no smell so if you prefer nice-smelling products (who doesn’t), this might not be for you as the “no-smell” can smell a little like the hospital or some disinfectant. Also, in the process of patting your face, the sticky feeling can get quite unpleasant. Once that is over, you will find your skin plumped and I’ve tried skipping my moisturizer a few times to test their claim of a “moisture locking shield” and so far it has held true.

I did realize that over time of continued usage, there seems to be a film of residue left, as if my skin can no longer absorb anymore.

If you are keen to try, do request for a sample of this from their facebook page here

Price: SGD 22.90 for 170ml / SGD 18.90 for 150ml refill

Thank you so much for reading!

[Review] Tony Moly Tomatox all-in-one Brightening Fluid

Standard

Another multi functional product for lazier days. bought this from my Korean beauty haul from iheartkoreanbeauty. This is supposed to be toner, moisturizer and i believed some ‘essence’ all in one. Tomatox range is one of tony moly’s star range and i bought this to try.

As usual, i am baffled at how the korean words behind say the same thing in english, can some expert kindly enlighten me how they understand what is written or why is it written in the english sound?

I only use this a couple of times so far, i really like the smell of this. i will put it on cotton pad first before swiping in on my face.
it is a colourless liquid, but consistency wise is not as thin or watery as your normal toner. its slightly thicker than usual.

after swiping, my face does feel cool and refreshing, and has a slight ‘sticky’ feel to touch after running my fingers over it. this ‘stickiness’ is always felt when i put mult functional pdts.

i guess this is similar to the effect after putting your night moisturizer? for me i using a cream moisturizer so its more ‘greasy’ than sticky. as for the brightening effect, i think it is not very much difference. after my friend used almost 2/3 of the bottle, i do feel its slightly brighter by about 10%?

me after using facing the sun.
