I got these 2 products from my first iherb haul last month and was so excited to try the products, and i finally did!

I got this elf peachy cheeky baked blush from iherb.com for USD$3 (i still cant believe the amazing price) some time back as my current blusher is finsihing and i always wanted to try a peachy shade instead of my usual pinky shade.

i was hesitant at first when it arrived as it looked too shimmery for my liking, i prefer those matte look so that my face doesnt look too oily.

(sorry the box become quite dirty with the powders in my make up box)

Anyway, i like that they added the jojoba rose, sunflower and apricot and grapes to nourish and hydrate the skin.

here’s a swatch of the blush

IMG_6983

looks very subtle right? there’s almost no colour and all shimmers!

however, i must say that i like how subtle it is… haha.

the picture cant show it but against my fair skin i do really see the peachy shade. personally, i wanted smthg more pigmented and less shimmery.

From my first actual application on my cheek, i begin to fall in love with it!

the powder glides very smoothly on my cheeks and creates a very natural blush for me.

The shimmers doesnt look at bad as i thought. instead of an oily face, the blush actually ‘catch the light’ and highlight my cheeks! Love!

I wore it as my daily blusher the whole of last week. and to clubbing on friday haha.

overall, i think this blusher is great for the price and i would definitely buy it again or check out more elf blushers!!

please read till the end to see the full makeup 🙂

as for the Benecos Natural Lipstick in Pink Honey, i was just looking for another lipstick as i am the kind who only have 1 lipstick at a time and only change or buy new ones when the previous one finishes.

So i thought, why not add one more option?

this is pricey at $13.99 but i bought it because of the natural and organic sources.

when i first used it, i am really amazed that it is so creamy and smooth. it is super moisturizing which is great for my dry lips.

i must say that this lipstick is the exact same colours of my natural lip colour. i never thought this is possible but it is.
so when i wear it, i really dont see a difference in my lip colour, but definitely more smooth and creamy looking now.

do you agree??

i find this lipstick too sheer for my liking. i guess it is because of its mineral and organic ingredients, so there’s not much they can do to give it a full cream look upon 1st application.
i have to apply 3-5 layers to finally see the full colour. if i apply only 1 layer, its like a lip balm. im torn if i shuold get it again as the texture is really great creamy nourishing for me but the colour is so so, i prefer to have more adventourous colours.

here’s 2 selfies of me wearing both the blush and lipstick.

[Review] Holika Holika Heart Full Moisture Lipstick

Standard

Here’s a rare make-up review from me.

I received this red lipstick from my fellow contributor, Fen as a souvenir from Korea. I kinda forgotten all about it until one day, I decided to do something different about my make up on a date night with Mr H.

Its packaging is really cute and small, perfect to pop into a clutch or a purse for quick touch-ups.

The lipstick lives up to its name of being a “heart full” lipstick by being in a heart shape. It’s very gimmicky but it works for me! However, I get super paranoid when I apply the lipstick as I feel I might ruin the heart shape. It’s probably best to use a lip brush for this lipstick.

Fen got me this particular colour, which is supposed to be a pretty bright shade of red. Let’s compare the colour of this lipstick with two others in my make up pouch.

2013-03-09 15.53.09

From top to bottom: L’oreal Caresse Lipstain Rose on and on, Holika Holika Heart Full and Maybelline Color Sensational

As you can probably see, it’s not as red as I thought it would be. However, its texture is smoother than my Maybelline and more moisturising. Kudos to that!

After 2 coats of the lipstick, I got a pretty pinkish-red tone and the colour is pretty even.

This red is good for those who are not daring enough to go full out and yet wanting to try something beyond the safe pink tone. But for those who are seeking an outstanding shade of red, you will be disappointed that 2-3 coats later, it will still be more pink than red.

The lip colour lasted about 2 hours before I needed to touch up, which means its staying power IMO is just alright. Nothing spectacular.

Overall, it was a good start to being slightly more experimental in my make-up choices.

P.S: For this look, I tried to modify the wingtip eyeliner to suit my sleepy eyelids but it doesn’t look that obvious.

Battle of the Red Lipsticks – Chanel Rouge Allure vs YSL Rouge Pur Couture

The bold lip is usually seen on magazines and has become more wearable..Bye bye nude lips!

A red lip is a classic look but many women are often too afraid to wear it because it’s so strong. Today is a review of two red lipsticks that I have come to love…

Left Chanel, Right YSL

My Review
I got the Chanel first and it’s a nice red that looks darker (oxblood) in the bullet and yet the colour is sheer when applied. This color is buildable so it’s a good red to ease into. The packaging is also sleek with the click to reveal the bullet.

The YSL is super pigmented and I don’t even need a lipliner for this. And it’s super lasting! The forumula is moisturizing enough that I don’t even feel the need for a lipbalm before application. Overall, I prefer the creamy texture of YSL and it feels luxuriously soft and sexy on my lips. It is also pricier at sgd45!

The red lip is extremely wearable with white or black outfits. Try it!
